Lost Labyrinth Version 4.6.0
ubuntu 10.10

1. there are problems with the cursor. sometimes the ingame cursor is lost and i get the OS cursor back and i cant click in the game window. if i move the mouse a bit in front of the window i get back the game cursor.
2. while the game is running my keyboard is nonresponse outside the game window. i cant type in other windows etc.
3. i don't get gold for killing monsters in the river with mercenary.
4. it seems like the merchant skill doesn't work (or i'm kinda unlucky :)
5. it seems like the find trap amulet and the ring don't work together (maybe it is only the problem of the info screen. the % of one I equip later doesn't add to the earlier one)
questions:
6. why do the map of the cartography get dissolved (destroyed)?
7. it is strange monsters can shoot from behind an ice block, but i can't shoot back.

1. the cursor problem cannot be fixed. Its a purebasic issue and we are glad we got it working at all. Have to read sdl events directly because purebasic is not able to access mouse and keyboard in windowed mode on linux at all :( maybe gets solved with a new version of purebasic.
2. same reason as 1. But at least in other desktops keyboard is working.
3. we will check that.
4. we will check that.
5. as its the same spell they do not add up. that is wanted. maybe when we improve this routine in the future this will work.
6. Already solved. will be in 4.6.1. No map needed anymore for cartography skill
7. will be fixed.

The reason for the mouse/keyboard issue is indeed pure basic.
The previous version could be compiled with elice converter which created working ,stable and reliable code. Alas, elice did only support a very restricting subset of PB functions.
So we switched back to creating it with the original PB compiler.
Its support for Linux is such, that I would strongly advise against using it for Linux at all.
Windows, gadgets, nothing works like it should, Was glad I could get it working at all.
If one does release/capture mouse under PB, the mouse cursor gets teleported around in annoying ways. :(

Only way I could make access to other windows possible is the minimize button.
So if you leave the game window with the mouse from below. (only way, sigh) you can click on iconify/minimize button on the title bar. Then you can activate and use other windows.
It's really bad, I know. Richard had started working on a new elice version, but with all those new features, It's a huge pile of work.

Is there a place where Linux users can download the last elice (non-PB) version of Lost Laby? I currently have version 4.4.1.

I think 4.5.0 was the last Elice compatible release. Here is a link to the Linux Game Tome where you can download it:

Looks to me like Happypenguin is just linking to our download section, so that won't help. But can still get the source of 4.5 from sourceforge SVN repository.
