You mean a heavy armor at the mouse pointer? ;) No. The problem is at the character generation only.

We were talking about the 50% chance to cast a spell?
I actually tried it yesterday and it works exactely as it should.
So please check what could be your problem. Its not a bug of the game.
Maybe you carry armor and do not have "Spellcasting in armor". Please check the percentage of the spells you cast. They should raise with every try.

That character was starting without any armor. Therefore no issues with armor.

And as long the issue with the sticky mousepointer is still there I do not make any further tests because it is impossible now to create any characters.

I fear we cannot fix the sticky mouse problem.
Its a windows problem and so we can not do too much about it.
You could install another operating system to get rid of this problem. But I guess you won't so no laby for you ;-)))

About which OS you think?

The old Laby Version 4.0 did not had that cursor issue.

And interesting is that this sticky mousepointer bug appears only in the character generation screen.

Well, The other OS would be Linux.
Though I'm pretty sure OpenBSD will work too.
The game is developed under Linux and as that version is even using a different compiler,
it is pretty unlikely to have the same problem.

The old laby was made with BLitzBasic and is thus unrelated technically.

Does it run with Ubuntu 9.4 or 9.10?

Yes.
I'm pretty sure laby runs on all major distributions.
There are no exotic dependencies, just some SDL libraries needed.

I use Kubuntu "Karmic Koala" (9.10).
Runs flawlessly here. But works same as good on all other ubuntu versions.
