Hi,

I'm not sure if I misunderstood the skill or if it's bugged. But when I choose charge attack as one of my skills, a combat still ends the round, although it should not. Only if it's a one hit kill (or the last blow in a fight), then the skill works and the fight only costs one moving point instead of the round.

If you kill your opponent with the first blow you can continue to walk on.
Otherwise he is standing in your way and no further moving is possible.

Is possible to change the description? Now it says "Attacking a monster costs a movement point instead of ending the turn." But it should be more like killing a monster only costs a movement point.
But from the skill name (charging) it should be that the first attack is cheaper than all others. Now it's more like a special finishing move a la mortal combat. ;-)

You are right, description is not correct.
If attacking would really just cost only a step, that would be
totally overpowered.
You are right also, that there is no real charging here, making both name and description unfitting.
One can for example kill all 4 monsters of an ambush while staying in the same place.

Charge is the most powerful fighting skill as it is already.
Maybe we will change it so one can walk on after attacking if killing or not.
Only if you then can't attack again that turn of course.

As it is, it could be named "quick kill" or the like.

I understand why you nerfed Charge -- it was illogical and overpowered.

However, the new implementation makes control with the mouse near-impossible. It's really fiddly to figure out how to pick something up while in "Charge" mode. (I haven't switched to keyboard yet, so it's probably better there anyway.)

You can't pick up things while in charge mode. You can't cast spells or use items either.
You can only charge on -> move and attack in same direction.
Only if you also have swift fingers, as then it would not cost the turn either.
You need to exit charge mode to do something else. To do that you can try to move in one of the other directions or just end the turn with the proper button.
In both cases your turn will end, so next monsters will have their turn,
then other players (if there are any).

Maybe we should implement something to end the turn more easily with the mouse. Right now one has to click on the skip turn button. Or in the wrong direction. So maybe over the player the mousecursor should change appearance and if you click the charging mode ends.

That's what I actually assumed would work, so I think that would be sufficient to solve the fiddliness. Maybe space could do the same in keyboard mode.

Yes, space can be made to work there too, though keyboard is not the problem.
One usually has the hand on the arrow keys anyway, so other direction,X or space bar are all just a single keystroke anyway.
