All 3 Laby programmers are busy with their regular day-to-day jobs right now. So we hope we are able to release the new version around christmas.

We implemented 2 very important new features which both are error prone and therefore need more testing before releasing.

The game will have a world level (level 0) with different climate zones, dungeons and cities in it.
As usual everything is created at random so we do not know how many dungeons/cities will be out there.
Map creation works already pretty good but we encounter loads of smaller issues. Its impessive how much has to be changed to make that feature work.
New version will feature a new highscore as its totally different in difficulty than older versions. players could e.g. enter a lot of dungeons and just finish the first few levels.

The roomeditor is already working (apart from setting fixed treasures for monsters in there). Every room has a folder with a picture, a sound and a file for the roomdata in it. Triggers had to be programmed to make it possible to open a door in case a monster in the room is slayed e.g.
The roomeditor will be accessible from the options menu for everybody.
Like this the players can improve the old rooms and create new ones.
Hopefully we will get a lot of new rooms for the game for all players to enjoy.

So stay tuned. Laby 5.0.0 is in the works and will be out there at the end of the year.
Have fun with the game!

Progress update.

We got all new features and changes working. Next step is simply thoroughly testing and debugging before we can release. We also need to implement some security and translations.

To speed up the release date, we have decided to wait releasing the world map, towns and the new dungeon types. Instead we do a 4.9.0 release before the big upcoming 5.0.0 which will contain more of the features listed above. One of our developers ran into problems with his development tools and Operating System and so the release is delayed after new year.

This is some of the things you can expect in the new release:
Code:
- New Warlock spell: True Strike
- Improved dungeon generation algorithms
- French translation!
- Various bugfixes and crash fixes
- New room system that allows custom player created rooms (improved modding support)
- Reworked how Visions and Futuresight works
- Various performance optimizations
- Reduced damage taken from fumbles
- Improved random treasure (blue chests should contain more interesting items now)
- Improved monster sounds
- Food is now more likely to spawn in normal brown chests
- When you die, the reason of death is now displayed
- Spell compendium can now be accessed in the skill selection screen
- Heavy Carrier is now Pack Mule (2 CP - Gives 8 additional inventory slots)
-  New curse: Weakness (Reduces strength to 1)
- Improved item descriptions (potions, scrolls and mushooms describe effect when identified)
- 10 new mushrooms
- 5 new potions
- Identified scroll value now depends on its contents
- 2 new magic weapons
- Desert special levels are now more interesting
- Improved Archpielgo level generation algorithm
- Changed Undead into Vampirism skill. (4 CP, must be Outcast and Forsaken - Do not need food or water. Can drink blood to heal 1-6 life. Humanoids drop blood 40% chance. Cannot use healing herbs as living creatrues)
- Extended version owners will see 7 additional new monsters

Thank you for your patience!

We found some more bugs in actual version.
So we keep on bugfixing because we want a really good release this time as after that the game will be changed a lot and not be playable for a while.
expect a new release in the next few days.
