what about an achievement system for players to go with and get bonous?
for the Characteristic of a hero, some achievements should bind with skills they choose, for example "Hard To Kill" is for heroes who have skill "Constitution", when they recieve total 100/500/1000... the highest max LP is increase by 10.

This idea is similar to ticket #362 (http://www.lostlabyrinth.com/mantis/view.php?id=362)

I would think achievements would give you bonus points for your highscore.
