I have some basic questions about the success rate of monster's stealing.

Does the trait "Dodging" give you a 50% chance to avoid theft as well as attacks?

Does your Dex help defend against steals?

Are there any other stats or traits that will reduce the chance of my best items being taken?

I'm also interested in this.. after pit traps, thefts are the more frustrating things in the game! I always take the "awareness" trait and carry lots of light junk.

I'll be back! Khe-he-he!!

The Laby's challenges are: water, food, light, monsters, traps. If there is one thing on the list your built can't handle, then you surely won't survive the Labyrinth.

Stealing is a normal attack. Just instead of damage you lose items.
So all kind of prevention works.
That includes dodge skill, dexterity rating, sneaking etc.
Total chance is kept between 10 % and 90 % .
Best bet is to kill thieves before they can even try to "hit" you.

Theft through magic, from afar is a bit different:
You can still prevent being noticed with sneaking and thus prevent being targeted.
Awareness works here too.
Dexterity does NOT help against magical theft.
Resistance to magic of X gives an X percent chance to avoid the spell.
The spell "Ward against magic" will protect you from the magic robbery too.
