 Post subject: 1% chance to hit

hello everybody, i'm new to game and i have a problem,
i always go stukked in my games when i find some monster that i can't hit.
The log information says "chance to hit 1%" and i always miss... and i die for starving on trying to hit the monster...

It happens to me often...
is a bug?
or maybe i must do something?

Yes, some monsters have a pretty high ability to dodge. So you would need to get a better attack rating. If you simply can't, then maybe your skill selection needs to be adjusted. Try "combat training" or "fighting styles".
You can also try and sneak by monsters instead of slaying them. After all there is no XP to be gained by kills. Of course this only works if the monster is not alerted already. Attacking will alert a monster.
Magic spells are a third way to handle this. Even if you took the "No Magic" flaw, there's scrolls and wands and potions.
Fourth possible solution could be walking around the obstacle: lock picking skill to open doors or better secret door detection via perception or boulder removal with a pickaxe.

Ok thanks, i understand, so maybe i must spend some exp point in attack.

I have another noob-question: often monster disarm me and i do not notice it, and i keep on fighting unarmed.
Some time i do not notice my weapon is on the floor and i definitenly lose it...

So, exist a way to avoid losing my weapon and being disarmed so frequently?

Monsters do not steal things you are actively using. Like swords you use for fighting or helmets you wear.
Everthing that is equipped is save from getting stolen.

Ok, but i'm not talking about stealers.
I'm tryng to say(sorry my english is not so good) that sometime it happens my equipped weapon fall in the floor, and i keep on fighting unarmed beacause i don't notice it.

How to avoid all that?

Dropping the weapon can happen with fumbling - that is a critical fail.
Fumbling chance can be reduced with having more attack rating, luck score or may be removed completely by taking a weapon mastery and using the proper weapon type.

I'm still learning to play, but i must say really nice roguelike, i'm falling in love for it :D
