I just had a look at the Windows 32 program as it appears for download and I can confirm that it's really borked. :shock: :oops:
Maybe Markus should not compile the release via Wine.
The Linux release works well - aside from the known crash bugs with exploding weapons and the appearance of broken special levels.
I can't test the 64 bit Windows here, but that one was compiled natively under Win64 by Johann.

"Lied des Lebens" war zu mächtig und wurde auf 1 LP alle 4 Züge reduziert.
Ich habe die Beschreibung extra schwammig gelassen, damit ich nicht jedesmal bei jeder Anpassung in sämtlichen Sprachen ändern (lassen) muss.

I have windows XP 2002 (32 bit). But the crash reports identify my system as the windows XP (64 bit) for some reason.

Iplayed the 32bit version on my netbook too (windows 7), and it works smoothly there. (still the weird negative damage numbers, only real problem I have experienced there so far is the Unobservant/mushroom bug)

I had a friend test laby 64 bit under Windows 7 and the broken item info display does appear there also.
The good news is I have fixed most known bugs and was able to contact Markus about a new release.

When you meet a luck trainer, with negative luck value, he actually pays you for rising it. I guess it makes sense mathematically, but... :D

We encounter new bugs with the new versions of the compiler.
I had to ask them to release an old version (5.20) into the museum section.
Now at least I can compile the game again.
But there are some quirks that I found immediately.
I hopefully will be able to have a look in the next days.

No, that is not the intended behaviour.
Re-casting the same shape shift spell causes the first one to not get properly terminated.
I have fixed that now.
At least you can profit from this bug too : with dragon shape - you get extra HP then instead.

good , how about 2 dragon form in a level ? :P

And how about higher magic power in summon super magical bow / arrow / armor / shield ?
or maybe we can try summon rings for ring master and cast
only once a level for random attribute in short period ?

I've tried archer , but the power curves after level 45 is too weak because there is some creature can not receive critical strike , maybe their is some way to improve it like better bow/arrow or a special synergy with melee or magic ? or a special critical chance for archer to deal bonus damage for creatures can not receive critical strike ?

Yes, Dragon Shape is costly and is most useful for hybrid characters.
Those have it hard already anyway. So I think I will remove the casting limit for it completely.
This change will come together with the fix for re-casting shape shifting though - So still no abuse potential. :P

If you got down to level 45 that's pretty awesome already. I see only 3 players in the high score have got past that. All of them are spell casters - those are still the most powerful I think. Monsters immune to criticals can still get killed grinding down their HP normally. Especially if they don't have ranged attacks, archers can do so rather undisturbed.
Of course deep level monsters can have over 200 HP so it can be quite the grind. Melee fighters have the same problem plus no way to stay out of danger.
Archers also would have invested into dexterity and thus are probably the best at sneaking.
After all one does not have to kill everything.
I must admit though, I never got any build through the game but mages myself. :roll:
Immune monsters are mostly undead and golems, so keeping some scrolls of "destroy golem/undead" might be advisable.

And I also planned to beef up the summoned bow and armour too - seemed only logical after improving the eldtritch weapons.
There will probably be some other skill adjustments to help shifting the power balance between magic users and archers/melee.
